The international body representing peace organisations has criticised the United States for its continued economic blockade of Cuba, following the passing of the 25th resolution in the UN General Assembly condemning the policy.

World Peace Council secretary-general Socorro Gomes said the blockade, in place since 1962, was "criminal" and "imperialistic".
